New Service!
Happy Spring!!!
I’m really excited to tell you about a class I took last weekend!
Myofascial Lymphatic Drainage Massage
What is Myofascial Lymphatic Drainage Massage?
MFLD is a combination of Myofascial release and Lymphatic drainage massage.
Lymph is a clear fluid that travels around the body and plays a big role in removing waste and fighting infections.
Unlike your blood, the lymphatic system doesn’t have a heart to move the fluid around your body. Circulation of lymph only happens when you move your body through breathing and muscle contractions.
The more sedentary you are, the more stagnant your lymphatic system can be.
MFLD uses a lighter pressure than typical massage because lymph does not circulate effectively with deep tissue work.
Myofascial release is a form of bodywork done to release the fascia that surrounds every organ, fiber and vessel of your body.
Fascia is essentially the glue that holds your body together but this “glue” can become tense and develop restrictions.
Imagine pulling slightly on one end of a tablecloth. The other end is affected too. Restrictions in one area of the body can create unwanted changes in another. This is why myofascial release is important.
MFLD is deeper work than a typical Lymphatic drainage massage because of the myofascial release techniques but not as deep as a deep tissue massage.
Benefits of MFLD & What to Expect
MFLD massage is NOT a deep tissue massage but is very effective at reducing swelling, detoxifying the body and some clients find that MLFD works better on tension than a typical massage.
One thing I noticed after receiving MFLD is the amount of energy I had. Instead of feeling groggy or sleepy after a deeper massage I felt more alert and energetic.
I also had a client say that she felt like she was more relaxed during her massage when we added MFLD at the beginning but more awake and energized when we were done.
Here’s a testimony from one of my classmates:

Health Update
I’m still kickin’!!
And still undiagnosed…
We’re currently still waiting on a myositis test and insurance denied the most recent genetic test. They must be getting sick of those too.. haha. We’re working on appealing the denial.
I think at this point the doctors are watching and measuring my progression because there hasn’t been a clear answer for what I have. They’ve asked that I come back at the end of July for a 3rd EMG.
So as far as massages go, I’m still taking appointments. I definitely can’t dig in like I use to but I continue to adapt as much as possible by using mainly my forearms and raising my electric table up and down to allow me to work deeper on different areas of the body.
I had also been having some issues with cold hands but the addition of a couple supplements has made a huge difference and with summer coming this should also help.
I continue to read and try new things. I’ve never liked others telling me what I can and can’t do so you bet that I’ll be figuring this out. :)
I recently wrote out a crazy long post on Facebook telling my story authentically of what it’s been like over the last two and a half years. You can read that here:
Thank you for all of the support and prayers!!
